Tips for achieving an optimal tinting result:
- Lashes and brows should be cleaned with the Hairpearl Lash and Brow Shampoo Foam to ensure they're clean and free from dirt/oil/makeup prior to tinting.
- Lashes and Brows should be completely dry before tinting.
- Remove the tint with a dry cotton swab, esthetic wipe, cotton pad, etc. Follow with an esthetic wipe or cotton pad lightly dampened with water to complete removal of the tint.
Q: I want to shape and tint the brows. Which service should I perform first?
A: Shape the brows with waxing or tweezing first, and then follow with the eyebrow tint service.
Q: Are all of the Hairpearl shades mixable?
A: Yes, it’s possible to mix the colors to create unique, customizable shades to suit your clients desired color.
Q: How long should I leave the eyebrow tint on?
A: The application time varies from person to person; it depends on the individual hair color and structure. In general, the minimum application time is 3 minutes. The longer the application time, the more intense the color result. Some shades need longer to develop.
Tip: Remove the tinting paste from one eyebrow after 2-3 minutes and check the result and/or show the client. If the tinting result is not dark enough, you may apply the tinting paste again for additional time.
Q: What is the processing time when tinting lashes?
A: Typical processing time for lash tinting is 10 minutes.
Q: What are the benefits of tinting lashes?
A: Tinted lashes give your clients darker, fuller looking lashes without the use of mascara. Even clients with dark lashes will benefit from this treatment. The full length of the lashes are enhanced from the base to the tip and even the "baby" lashes are darkened, yielding a fuller look.
Q: I have stained the skin, what can I do?
A: Use a bit of the Hairpearl Tint Remover on a cotton swab to spot treat and remove tinting stains easily and quickly.
Q: Is there an ideal sitting position during Lash & Brow Styling?
A: Ideally, the client is seated in a relaxed position, reclining slightly backwards. The eyes need to remain closed during the treatment.
Q: Should I perform an allergy test?
A: We recommend an allergy test (patch test) 48-72 hours prior to the first tint and/or lift application, as well as if it has been a long period of time since the client has received a tinting or lifting treatment.
Instructions for tint patch test: Mix 1 cm of Hairpearl eyelash & eyebrow tint with the Hairpearl Cream Developer (ratio 1:1). Apply a small amount to a small area on the inner bend of the elbow or behind the ear. Allow to dry and leave uncovered for 48-72 hours, then clean thoroughly. If any irritation occurs during this time, the client is not eligible for the treatment.
Q: Dyed hair needs care. Does this also apply to tinted lashes and brows?
A: Yes, for ideal and longer-lasting results, we recommend using the Biosmetics Lash & Brow Moist Pen (Brush) following the tint or lift service. Apply to lashes and brows twice a day for a week (or ongoing basis) as a conditioning aftercare treatment.
Q: Can I use oxidative tints on pregnant clients?
A: We do not recommend performing any tinting treatments on clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
